The long-speculated conflict escalated after Cooper publicly challenged Earle on TikTok, accusing her of creating "fake drama" and engaging in passive-aggressive behavior.

Alex Cooper's public challenge came on April 13, 2026, following a series of indirect social media jabs.

Cooper expressed his frustration with Earle's reposts of TikToks criticizing her, as well as "likes" and other passive-aggressive comments.

“Alix Earle, hey girl,” she said calmly.

“The passive-aggressive reposts and the ‘likes’ and the commenting on things, I gotta call you out here — you’re gonna need to get specific. Just say what you gotta say about me. There’s no NDA and no one is stopping you. Stop hiding behind other people and just say it yourself. What’s the beef?”

In 2023, the collaboration between Alex Cooper and Alix Earle began with promising prospects.

Alix Earle launched her podcast, Hot Mess, under Alex Cooper's Unwell Network, a move that was considered mutually beneficial for both parties.
