Neon Union: Country Music Duo Leo Brooks and Andre Milsaps Officially Break Up, What's the Reason?

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Country music duo Neon Union, consisting of Leo Brooks and Andrew Millsaps, officially announced their disbandment on April 24, 2026.

The announcement was made via a joint Instagram post, marking the end of their four-year partnership.

At the time of the announcement, the duo was widely considered one of the genre's rising stars.The announcement, shared on Friday, April 24, quickly garnered attention across the country music scene.

“After a lot of thought and consideration, we’re decided to go our separate ways,” the joint statement read. “This chapter of Neon Union is closing.”

The decision to part ways came after "much thought and consideration" from Leo Brooks and Andrew Millsaps.

They explained that this chapter of Neon Union has come to an end, indicating a natural transition in their journeys as individuals.

Despite online speculation, there was no indication of conflict behind Neon Union's disbandment in 2026.

Both artists described the decision as mutual and reflective, driven primarily by personal and artistic growth.

In their statements, both Brooks and Millsaps expressed deep gratitude for the journey they had been on.

Both Millsaps and Brooks realeased statements on the decision.

 “I love Leo, and he will always be my friend and brother,” Millsaps posted.

“I’ve done things I never dreamed possible, and made lifelong memories. Thank you to Red Street Records for the opportunity to put our music out to the world. We accomplished bucket list check marks that a small town boy from Mayberry could have only dreamed of. From an ACM nomination to the Grand Ole Opry Circle, I cannot express how lucky and blessed I am to have been part of this journey, but I am ready for the next one."

Despite pursuing separate career paths, Leo Brooks and Andrew Millsaps plan to continue writing songs together.

Brooks stated that Andrew will always be his best friend, and they will continue to collaborate on songwriting.

Leo Brooks, a Miami native, has a rich musical background, having toured as a bassist with Pitbull before branching out into country music.

He is also a Grammy Award-winning collaborator with artists such as Lauryn Hill, Jennifer Lopez, Mary J. Blige, Cee Lo Green, and John Legend.

Meanwhile, Andrew Millsaps, born in Surry County, North Carolina, began playing guitar and writing music at the age of thirteen.

He was a semifinalist in the Music City Song Star Competition and won first place in the Chris Austin Songwriting Contest at Merlefest.

Neon Union formed in Nashville in 2022, quickly establishing themselves as one of country music's most promising duos and known for blending classic country storytelling with modern production.

Over the course of their four-year run, Neon Union achieved several significant milestones in their career.

The duo signed with Red Street Records in 2022.

They also released viral hits like "'Bout Damn Time" in December 2022, which reached over one million streams.

Their accomplishments include a 2024 Academy of Country Music Award nomination for New Duo or Group of the Year.

Additionally, they made a significant debut on the Grand Ole Opry and released their debut album, "Good Years," in January 2025.
