Shrek, Fiona, their children, and Donkey are seen embarking on a journey to the magical city of "Further Further Away."

The teaser also introduces new characters, including Shrek and Fiona's daughter, Felicia, who will be voiced by Zendaya, although Felicia is not clearly visible in the trailer.

The opening teaser even pays homage to William Steig's original book with its distinctive illustrations before transitioning to more modern footage.

Shrek's Signature Humor and the Return of Favorite Characters

The "Shrek 5" teaser trailer not only brings back the main characters but also the signature humor that has become a hallmark of the franchise.

Behind the scenes, Walt Dohrn has been tapped to direct "Shrek 5."

Dohrn has a long track record with the Shrek franchise and previously directed "Trolls Band Together."

He will be joined by Conrad Vernon, who co-directed "Shrek 2," and Brad Ableson, one of the directors of "Minions: The Rise of Gru."Gina Shay, who previously produced "Shrek Forever After," will serve as producer.

Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri will also produce the film.
