New Developments on February 10

On February 10, 2026, the FBI released crucial surveillance images and video showing a masked, armed individual near the doorbell camera at Nancy Guthrie's home on the morning of her disappearance.

The footage shows the individual wearing a backpack, long sleeves, pants, gloves, and a mask, with a pistol tucked into his waistband, attempting to cover the doorbell camera with a gloved hand before using a plant to block the camera's view.

FBI Director Kash Patel explained that the video was successfully recovered from "residual data located in the backend system" after days of effort.

Later that day, a significant development occurred when a "person of interest" was detained for questioning south of Tucson, Arizona.

While there has been no official confirmation that this individual is the person seen in the surveillance footage, the arrest has given new hope to the investigation.

The health of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie is a serious concern, as she takes daily medication for high blood pressure and heart problems, and has a pacemaker.

How Nancy Guthrie's Disappearance Happened

Nancy Guthrie was last seen on the evening of January 31, 2026, at approximately 9:50 p.m., while being driven home by her son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, after dinner at her daughter Annie Guthrie's home in the Catalina Foothills neighborhood of Tucson, Arizona.

The garage door was reportedly closed at the time. However, the following day, February 1, 2026, Nancy failed to attend a scheduled virtual church service, sparking concern among her family.

The family began checking for her around 11:56 a.m. on February 1, and soon after, at 12:03 p.m., they called 911 to report her missing.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department subsequently announced Guthrie's disappearance on social media at 6:46 p.m.Several suspicious events emerged from her home security footage.

Around 1:47 a.m. on February 1, the doorbell camera at Guthrie's home disconnected.

Then, around 2:12 a.m., one of the home cameras detected what the system classified as a person, although video footage is unavailable because the home did not subscribe to the service.

Nancy's pacemaker app also disconnected from her phone at 2:28 a.m, while her personal belongings, including her phone, wallet, and keys, were found still inside the house.

The discovery of blood matching Nancy's DNA on her front porch further strengthened Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos' belief that she had been abducted.
