Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Netflix is gearing up to launch its latest live-action series, "Scooby-Doo: Origins," scheduled to premiere globally in 2027.
This adaptation is making headlines because, for the first time in the franchise's history, the iconic Scooby-Doo character will be played by a real dog, rather than a computer-generated one.

This decision marks a significant departure from previous live-action adaptations, which often relied on CGI dogs.
Great Dane as the Iconic Scooby Doo
Netflix has released the first photo of the brown Great Dane with floppy ears and a turquoise collar that will bring Scooby-Doo to life.
The dog's floppy ears are striking, considering that the cartoon Scooby has erect ears, which is often achieved through the controversial practice of surgically cropping Great Danes' ears.
Legendary voice actor Frank Welker, who has voiced Fred since 1969 and Scooby-Doo since 2002, will return to voice the canine detective.
The Latest Remake of the Legendary Series
"Scooby-Doo: Origins" will present a modern reimagining of the mystery-solving group and their special dog.
The series focuses on the origin story, exploring how the Mystery Inc. crew first met and solved their first case.
The story takes place during their final summer at camp.
"Scooby-Doo: Origins will follow Shaggy and his old pal Daphne Blake during their final summer at camp. The teens become embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely, lost Great Dane puppy that may have witnessed a supernatural murder. With help from the pragmatic and scientific townie Velma Dinkley and the strange but ever-so-handsome new kid Fred Jones, they set out to solve the case that's pulling them into a creepy nightmare that threatens to expose all their secrets," the official logline describes the show .
Series Cast and Production
The main cast has been announced, with Mckenna Grace playing Daphne Blake, Tanner Hagen as Shaggy Rogers, Abby Ryder Fortson as Velma Dinkley, and Maxwell Jenkins as Fred Jones.
Actor Paul Walter Hauser will also join the cast in an undisclosed role, but there is speculation he may play Scooby-Doo's owner.
