Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Mondelēz International, owner of the world's best-selling cookie brand, Oreo, will launch its newest product, "Oreo Zero Sugar," in the United States.
The national launch of these sugar-free cookies is scheduled for January 2026, although pre-orders are already available through the official Oreo website.
Oreo Zero Sugar was developed over four years to ensure the authentic Oreo taste is maintained without added sugar, targeting the health-conscious market.

Oreo Zero Sugar: A Flavor Innovation Without Sugar
Oreo Zero Sugar will be available in two beloved flavors: Original and Double Stuf, both of which are designed to become permanent members of the Oreo product line.
The cookie took approximately four years to develop, during which Mondelēz International painstakingly refined the recipe.
To achieve its sugar-free flavor profile, Oreo Zero Sugar uses a combination of artificial sweeteners, such as maltitol, polydextrose, sucralose, and acesulfame potassium are key to this formulation.
It's important to note that this product is aspartame-free, providing an alternative for consumers who avoid such sweeteners.
Maltitol is a type of sugar alcohol, while polydextrose is a complex carbohydrate derived from glucose, and sucralose is known as a zero-calorie sugar substitute, contributing to the product's nutritional profile.
In addition to the recipe changes, Oreo Zero Sugar also features different packaging and design.
Instead of the traditional cookie container with a plastic tray, this variant is packaged in a stand-up pouch.
Each pouch contains individually wrapped cookies in a pack of two, each with "Zero Sugar" printed on the inside.

Oreo Zero Sugar Availability
Nationwide availability of Oreo Zero Sugar in stores in the United States will begin in January 2026.
However, for impatient consumers, pre-orders can already be placed through the official Oreo website.
Previously, a sugar-free version of this iconic cookie was introduced and available in European and Chinese markets.
In terms of nutritional information, one serving of Oreo Zero Sugar (approximately 22.6 grams) contains 90 calories, 4.5 grams of fat, and 16 grams of carbohydrates.
These figures indicate there is no added sugar in the product.
In comparison, three regular Oreo cookies (approximately 34 grams) have 160 calories, 7 grams of fat, and 25 grams of carbohydrates.
Target Market: Less Sugar Intake Consumers
The launch of Oreo Zero Sugar specifically targets health-conscious consumers looking to reduce their sugar intake.
Mondelēz International is striving to fill a gap in the healthy snack market, including for people with diabetes or those who simply want to enjoy a sugar-free indulgence.
This is the brand's strategy to better position itself in this consumer segment.
Regarding price, a pack of 20 Oreo Zero Sugar cookies is listed online for $5.29.
This pack is equivalent to 10 packs of two cookies each.
