Paige Adams: Alabama Teacher and Coach Charged with 32 Counts of Sexual Offenses Against Students

Paige Adams was arrested on April 21, 2026, after a grand jury issued an indictment against her.

She was charged with a total of 32 counts related to sexual assault on a student.

The charges include one felony count of a school employee engaging in a sexual act or deviate sexual relationship with a student, and one felony count of sexual contact with a student under the age of 19.

Additionally, Adams faces thirty misdemeanor counts of distributing obscene material to a student.

If convicted of all these charges, Adams could face a combined maximum sentence of 31 years in prison.

Cullman County District Attorney Champ Crocker stated that the 32-count indictment speaks for itself regarding the seriousness of the case.

Paige Adams' resignation from Cold Springs High School occurred abruptly on March 25, 2026, after allegations of sexual assault surfaced and an internal investigation was initiated by the school system.

Dr. Shane Barnette, Cullman County Schools Superintendent, stated that this was the first formal complaint he had received regarding Adams.

As per standard procedure, all materials belonging to the Cullman County Board of Education (CCBOE) were returned, and she was escorted off school property.

Barnette emphasized that their primary focus is protecting the students of Cullman County Schools.

Adams' resignation was approved at a special school board meeting, and her teaching contract and all other coaching benefits were terminated.

Following her arrest, Paige Adams was released from jail after posting $225,000 bail.

As part of her release conditions, she was required to wear an electronic monitoring device.

Her husband, Drew Adams, who also coached the boys' basketball team at the same school, filed for divorce on April 6, 2026.

Drew Adams also requested full custody of their son.

“I rarely got to see Parker or Paige many weeknights this past season because we were always playing at separate places. Now we can be at the same place on a nightly basis,” Drew told the Cullman Tribune, speaking about his appointment.

Adams' arraignment hearing is scheduled for May 22, 2026.
