24 Jump Street Movie Is In The Making, Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum Are Ready for Action!

24 Jump Street, the third film in the 'Jump Street' franchise, is officially in development with the return of Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - After a twelve-year wait, the popular action-comedy franchise 'Jump Street' officially returns with its third installment, 24 Jump Street.

This project marks the return of iconic duo Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, who are in talks to reprise their roles as Schmidt and Jenko.

In addition to Hill and Tatum, actor Ice Cube is also reportedly in negotiations to reprise his role as Captain Dickson.

Sony Pictures, the production company behind the franchise, is reportedly moving forward with the long-awaited project.

The title '24 Jump Street' itself is part of the franchise's signature meta-humor.

It intentionally omits '23 Jump Street', a joke hinted at in the end-credits montage of '22 Jump Street'.

In the montage, '24 Jump Street' is described as 'Foreign Exchange Students,' hinting at a potential plot direction yet to be revealed.

Return of Creative Team and Production Support

'24 Jump Street' will be directed by Rodney Rothman, previously known as one of the directors of 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse'.

Rothman also had previous involvement in the 'Jump Street' franchise as one of the screenwriters for '22 Jump Street'.

He will return to write the screenplay for the third installment, alongside Jonah Hill and Meghan Malloy.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who directed the first two 'Jump Street' films, will return as producers for '24 Jump Street'.

Original producer Neal H. Moritz will also return to the production team.

Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill will not only star in the film but also serve as producers, along with their colleagues Reid Carolin and Matt Dines.

While specific plot details for '24 Jump Street' have not been shared, the previous films have always followed the premise of an undercover police officer.

The Long Road to a Sequel

It's been 12 years since '22 Jump Street' was released in 2014.

Previously, there were plans for a third film, titled '23 Jump Street,' which would have even featured a crossover with the 'Men in Black' franchise.

However, these ambitious plans never materialized, especially after the commercial failure of 'Men in Black International.'

Channing Tatum once stated that the screenplay for '23 Jump Street' was "the best screenplay I've ever read for a third film."

Now, with '24 Jump Street' officially in development, the franchise is ready to once again delight fans with its signature humor.
