Liputan6.com, Jakarta - The official trailer for the latest installment in the legendary horror franchise, Evil Dead Burn, was officially released on May 5, 2026.

Evil Dead Burn is scheduled to hit theaters in the United States on July 10, 2026.

Meanwhile, audiences in France and Italy will be able to see it earlier, on July 8, 2026.

This release date is moved up from the originally scheduled July 24, 2026.

The trailer, released by Warner Bros. Pictures, features the dark, tantalizing tagline: "Family is the root of all evil."

The Horrifying Story of Evil Dead Burn

Evil Dead Burn promises to be the most brutal and terrifying journey in the franchise's history, delivering a new chapter of demonic cruelty and mayhem.

The story's premise centers on a woman named Alice, played by Souheila Yacoub, who seeks comfort with her in-laws at a remote family home after the loss of her husband.

However, this family reunion quickly turns into a nightmare when one by one the family members are transformed into Deadites, turning the gathering into a "family reunion from hell."

Alice then discovers that the promises she made in life remain alive, even in death.

The emergence of a new Book of the Dead unleashes a terrifying Deadite threat, forcing the group to uncover the dark secrets of their family's past.

Behind the Scenes

Evil Dead Burn is directed by Sébastien Vaniček, who also wrote the screenplay with Florent Bernard.

Sam Raimi, creator of the Evil Dead franchise, personally selected Vaniček after being impressed with his directorial debut with the horror film Infested (2023).

Rob Tapert and Sam Raimi serve as producers on the film, ensuring quality and alignment with the spirit of the franchise.

Meanwhile, the list of executive producers includes prominent names such as Romel Adam, Bruce Campbell, Lee Cronin, and Jose Canas.

The presence of Bruce Campbell, the iconic actor who played Ash Williams, as executive producer provides an authentic touch for loyal fans.

Cast and Position in the Franchise

The main cast of Evil Dead Burn is led by Souheila Yacoub as Alice.

She is supported by a number of other actors including Tandi Wright, Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, Errol Shand, George Pullar, Maude Davey, and Greta Van Den Brink.

The collaboration of this cast is expected to bring to life the horror and suspense that are the hallmarks of the Evil Dead franchise.

Evil Dead Burn is the third standalone entry in the modern Evil Dead franchise, following Evil Dead (2013) and Evil Dead Rise (2023).

Overall, this is the sixth film in the Evil Dead series.

While not directly continuing the events of Evil Dead Rise or Sam Raimi's original trilogy, the franchise has always made room for a bloody, ever-expanding mythology.

Trailer Details and Potential Sequel

The new trailer for Evil Dead Burn hints at a potential violation of a key rule of the 45-year-old franchise.

During a montage of the most terrifying moments, a dog leaps at the heroine, Alice.

This suggests the possibility of the first animal possession by a Deadite in an Evil Dead film, something that hasn't happened in the previous five films.

Furthermore, the trailer also shows Vaniček bringing various Evil Dead hallmarks to his standalone story.

These include a Kandarian spirit possessing people and turning them into Deadites, seen from a first-person perspective, and Alice using a hedge trimmer as a weapon, reminiscent of Ash Williams' style with his iconic chainsaw.

The future of the Evil Dead franchise also looks bright, with a seventh film titled "Evil Dead Wrath" currently in the works and scheduled for release on April 7, 2028.
